St Paul A.M.E. Zion Church at Maryville.
We, the members of St. Paul are grateful that you’ve taken the time to visit our home on the World Wide Web. We are a church that loves God and the People of God.
Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream of what he termed the “Beloved Community.” This community is to be one that does not regard race, sex, culture, social or economic status. It is a community where men, women, boys and girls, regardless of status (or non-status) are able to come together as one.
This community acknowledges that every human being is precious in the sight of God and thus invaluable to the Kingdom of God. It is a community which adheres to the greatest two commandments of the New Testament; namely, to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind…” and “to love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39)
After much prayer and meditation, this dream or vision has become my dream as the Pastor of St. Paul. It is a dream that I believe is the desire of God for all of His people. Hence our theme at St. Paul is “Becoming the Beloved Community.” This theme acknowledges that we are in a constant state of “becoming’ that which God would have us to be.
We welcome you to our Worship Service, our Bible Study, Prayer Service, and any other activity we offer.
God bless you.
